2006 proved to be one of the most tumultuous of the last 8 years that  I have witnessed in the affordable web hosting market.

Competition spurned some great advances in quality control and support services for some companies while the same competition drove a frenzy for market acquisition at the expense of their frustrated customers. Too often our visitor feedback was of frustration for those companies who were obsessed with gaining more customers while neglecting existing and new clients’ services.

The good news is that some of the new market leaders made the best of 2006 by not only strengthening their customer volume but also by making advances in their support hours (more companies now offer 24-7 phone support) and client services. There were more new opportunities for advanced features for customers in 2006 and it looks as if that trend should continue for the next several years.
